Orange County SC announced on Wednesday they have signed 20-year-old forward Vinicius from FC Cascavel on a multi-year deal.

The youngster has played in his native country exclusively to date, for Foz Do Iguaçu, Fortaleza FC and most recently FC Cascavel.

“Vinicius is a very exciting young player! He has the technical ability to go past people 1-v-1 and has a keen eye for goal. He will be a great addition to our team,” said OCSC head coach Braeden Cloutier in a statement.

Vinicius becomes the second Brazilian in as many days to be signed by the USL Championship outfit, after the addition of MLS veteran defender Leonardo on Tuesday. In the case of Vinicius, there isn’t a lot of info circulating out there that I could find on him, so he enters an unknown quantity. With a multi-year deal, however, Orange County appears to think he can be a building block for the team.

Orange County SC host their home opener for the 2019 regular season on Saturday, against the Tulsa Roughnecks.
