Orange County SC open the home portion of their 2019 USL Championship campaign on Saturday night, as they host Tulsa Roughnecks FC on Saturday night at Orange County Great Park.

Both teams are coming off draws to open the season last weekend, with OCSC performing a rousing comeback to draw 2-2 in Reno, while Tulsa drew Portland Timbers 2 1-1 last week at home, opening the scoring before T2 came back to tie it up.

Tulsa are coming off a rough 2018 season. Michael Nsien’s roster includes two familiar faces to Orange County fans — former OC Blues Matt Sheldon and Akwafei Ajeakwa are on the Roughnecks squad this year. With a fair number of changes this year, Tulsa are looking to get back into the playoffs.

OCSC, meanwhile, are trying to build on an outstanding 2018 season, and while much of the core from last year returns for Braeden Cloutier, the season opener showed the squad perhaps needed some reinforcements. The team addressed that with four signings this week: Defender Leonardo and forward Vinicius, defender Hugo Arellano on loan, and forward Kevin Coleman. We’ll see if any of them see action in this match.

Tale of the Tape:

Orange County SC: 1 point (0-0-1), 6th place in Western Conference; Goal Difference: 0; Last game: D

Tulsa Roughnecks: 1 point (0-0-1), 13th place in Western Conference; Goal Difference: 0; Last game: D
