Los Angeles Football Club had to work for it, but they defeated Real Salt Lake 2-1 on Saturday at The Banc. Diego Rossi tied up the game before Walker Zimmerman scored a wicked winner to send the black-and-gold faithful home happy.
With another game in the books we need your help to crown a Man of the Match for LAFC. The nominees, as selected by Angels on Parade staff:
- Eduard Atuesta: Another steady shift for the midfielder, whose been the ever-present in that group this season. Had a chance to win it in the middle of the second half but didn’t quite get it away from Nick Rimando, but did the little things right again.
- Adama Diomande: Didn’t score this week, but his deflected cross set up Rossi’s goal and his feisty play helped LAFC stand tall when RSL wanted to bully them early on.
- Diego Rossi: Isn’t getting the headlines because he’s not scored a winner yet, but Rossi had a good goal to help LAFC’s rally early and he drew a red card and at least one yellow card on the night.
- Walker Zimmerman: LAFC gave up a goal, yes, but it was a penalty and Zimmerman got to work on the other end to ensure all three points. What a finish for the big man.
