Orange County SC look to post their first win of the 2019 USL Championship season as they head back out onto the road to take on expansion side El Paso Locomotive on Saturday evening for the teams’ first-ever meeting.
Orange County and El Paso are on identical records and goal difference so far through three games. OCSC are coming off a rousing comeback draw last week, their second in three weeks, but the next aim is to start picking up three points. They announced the signing of veteran goalkeeper Patrick McLain on Friday, so while Aaron Cervantes had a good pro debut last week, a potential concern for the squad moving forward seems to have been addressed.
El Paso are managed by 33-year-old Englishman Mark Lowry, and their roster includes quite a few MLS and USL experienced players, including former MLS Draft No. 1 pick Omar Salgado. Their group may not be quite as talented as the squad the expansion team Orange County faced last week, New Mexico United, but they don’t look like pushovers, either. Expect another tough test for Braeden Cloutier’s group.
Tale of the Tape:
Orange County SC: 2 points (0-1-2), 13th place in Western Conference; Goal Difference: -2; Last three games: D-L-D
El Paso Locomotive: 2 points (0-1-2), 14th place in Western Conference; Goal Difference: -2; Last three games: D-D-L
