LAFC injury report: Andre Horta moved to questionable for Portland match

Report is light ahead of Sunday’s game.

Los Angeles Football Club released their injury report ahead of Sunday’s game at Banc of California Stadium against the Portland Timbers, and the headliner is that midfielder Andre Horta has been moved from out to questionable for this game with a quad strain.

Horta missed the season opener against Sporting Kansas City with the injury, and with a strong performance from the trio of Lee Nguyen, Eduard Atuesta and Mark-Anthony Kaye the Portuguese player will likely have his work cut out to break into the lineup. But, we could see him as soon as Sunday against Portland if he is fit.

The only other player listed on the injury report this week is midfielder Alejandro Guido, who is listed as out with a quad strain of his own. The former Club Tijuana man joined this season after a preseason trial and he’ll have to wait longer to make his competitive debut.

One player not listed on the injury report but to keep in mind on the minutes front is forward Adama Diomande. He had offseason surgery to repair a hernia, and after coming off the bench to score the game-winning goal against Sporting last week, told reporters after the match that he didn’t expect to be in contention to start for the first several matches. Chances are Christian Ramirez will start as striker and Diomande will jump into the fray off the bench in the next several games.
