LAFC Podcast Wrap: Team of the Week in our hearts

What’s LAFC Pod Fam talking about this week?

MLS: Los Angeles FC at D.C. United Geoff Burke-USA TODAY Sports

The common thread throughout many of the Los Angeles Football Club podcasts this week is that there aren’t enough LAFC players making the MLS Team of the Week. Sure, a player or two have made it every week so far this season, but come on, can’t all of the players make it?!

This humble correspondent plays a big role in creating the MLS Team of the Week, if you didn’t know. Not sure if all of these shows know that or not, but it feels like #LAFCPodFam is trying to lobby the persons who run that. Rest assured, I’m aware of how well all the LAFC players are playing right now. But with 24 teams in MLS now and typically a minimum of 11 games weekly, there are a lot of players competing for very few spots. Those of us who watch all the MLS games, are seeing how well LAFC is doing, don’t worry about that.

FCFC podcast

In a change from the usual format, the guys hang out at Free Play LA over the weekend and chat with a handful of people who are around. It’s very loose and freewheeling, but it’s a fairly entertaining half hour.

LAFC Season Pass

A two-parter in a single episode, Alex and Ryan first go over the D.C. United win, then in the second half, Alex and Josh talk about the USWNT win over Belgium at The Banc, the prospects of LAFC in NWSL, and the Gold Cup, which will feature a doubleheader at The Banc this summer.

Soccer Weekly

Dave Denholm interviews LAFC defender Steven Beitashour, and it’s a good listen.

Inside LAFC

Vince and Max talk Max’s latest vacation, YouTube TV broadcast withdrawals, and D.C. recap/Cincy preview talk.

Heart of LAFC

Their first episode, following the recent double-episode format, focused on going over LAFC’s win over D.C. United.

In their second episode, they gear up for the FC Cincinnati game and discuss the community events around The 3252.

Are we LAFC?

The guys go over the big win over D.C. United, complain about MLS Team of the Week, and make a lot of fun of Rodolfo Zelaya.

Shoulder 2 Shoulder

In their first episode this week, the guys welcome back Jose Salcedo, who talks about his background and tells a bunch of stories of his experience with LAFC, Chivas USA and the ISC. It’s a short and entertaining show.

The second episode features Ben and Imelda of LAFC Supporters Group Relentless and Relentless Ladies. They discuss the win in D.C., talk about community events, their quest to build out LAFC’s support in Orange County and the two Relentless groups and how they brought in the Relentless Ladies group.
