Los Angeles Football Club posted another win on Saturday, defeating FC Cincinnati 2-0 at The Banc. Mark-Anthony Kaye scored off a corner kick in the first half, and Carlos Vela sealed the victory with a second-half stoppage time goal.
So, it’s that time again. Who was the LAFC Man of the Match? The nominees, as selected by Angels on Parade staff:
- Latif Blessing: Another assured performance in central midfield. This guy may never give him his starting spot in his new position.
- Jordan Harvey: Helped post the shutout, in particular with a goal-saving tackle right in front of the net.
- Mark-Anthony Kaye: Showing his set piece prowess with his second headed goal off a corner kick this season. Also stymied FC Cincinnati in transition throughout.
- Carlos Vela: Assisted the winner and scored the insurance goal late. Had a reasonable shout at a penalty go uncalled, too. Remains atop the goal and assist charts in MLS.
