One player on loan from Los Angeles Football Club was in action over the weekend, as Phillip Ejimadu continued to start for FC Tucson as they played Toronto FC II to a 1-1 draw in Tucson’s home opener in USL League One play on Saturday.
Ejimadu went the distance for Tucson, making five saves on the night for the home side, including this one.
FC Tucson took the lead in the 73rd minute, through Jamael Cox, but the shutout bid ended six minutes later as Toronto tied up the game via Jordan Hamilton.
Tucson are off until April 26, when they’ll host South Georgia Tormenta FC. Ejimadu has been ever-present in goal so far, getting plenty of minutes.
The other LAFC on loan contingent, at Phoenix Rising FC, did not feature at all in a 2-0 road win over El Paso Locomotive, nor were in the 18. It’s unclear if the full group has been recalled, but Josh Perez definitely was, as he came off the bench for LAFC in their 2-0 win over FC Cincinnati. We’ll see which players will be in the mix, or not, at Phoenix moving forward.
