Los Angeles Football Club took care of business on Sunday, beating the Seattle Sounders 4-1 at Banc of California Stadium. A brace from Carlos Vela, a goal from Eduard Atuesta and one from Christian Ramirez canceled out Harry Shipp’s strike for the visitors.
So, with the first of the two-game set in the books, it’s time to decide who is LAFC Man of the Match. The nominees, as selected by Angels on Parade staff:
- Eduard Atuesta: Had a goal, an assist, and bossed the midfield against his skilled Sounders counterparts. After a down night midweek, the Colombian bounced back in a major way.
- Mark-Anthony Kaye: Had three assists in the game, one off the MLS record, and also helped dominate the Sounders.
- Christian Ramirez: Got on the scoresheet and seemed to connect with his teammates better than he has in over a month, in a bounceback performance.
- Carlos Vela: Scored the opener to set the tone and made it to double-digit goals with his second, to once again extend LAFC’s lead before the Sounders found a rhythm.
