Orange County SC head back out on the road for Friday night soccer, this time closer to home, as they take on Fresno FC for the first time in 2019.
OCSC are coming off a tough 1-0 loss at OKC Energy FC last weekend, a game where a fluke goal and plenty of bad luck snapped a two-game winning run. While they’ve had the better of Fresno in the teams’ short history, Fresno are off to an unbeaten start to their season and are counting on the continuity of an experienced roster, led by playmaker Juan Pablo Caffa who is himself off to a bit of a slow start, and Orange County will have their hands full in this one. That said, we’ve seen some inconsistency from Braeden Cloutier’s group, but we’ve also seen them play very well very recently, and if they have a strong lineup and are in the right frame of mind, they’ll be good value in this game.
A win in this game would vault Orange County up the standings, at least until the rest of the weekend games take place. It’s early in the season, but it should be a good test for OC on a Friday night.
