Los Angeles Football Club continue to ride high and that hasn’t gone unnoticed around MLS, as forward Diego Rossi was voted MLS Player of the Week for Week 6 after a hat trick in a 4-0 win over D.C. United on Saturday.

The Player of the Week honor is the third this season for an LAFC player, as Carlos Vela took the award in Week 2 and Week 5, and it’s the first for Rossi since Week 2 of the 2018 season, when he had a hand in all five goals in LAFC’s second game, a road win over Real Salt Lake.

In addition to the Player of the Week nod, both Rossi and Vela were selected to the MLS Team of the Week for Week 6.

Vela currently leads MLS with seven goals, while Rossi is right behind him with six. LAFC sit atop the Supporters’ Shield standings right now, even though it’s very early. It’s a good time, long may it last. And of course, congrats to Diego.
