Los Angeles Football Club returned to winning ways on Saturday, as they defeated Columbus Crew SC in their first-ever trip to the state of Ohio. Mark-Anthony Kaye scored a first-half winner, before late insurance goals came from Adama Diomande and Carlos Vela.
With the win in the books, it’s time to vote for the Man of the Match for LAFC. Here are the nominees, as selected by Angels on Parade staff:
- Mark-Anthony Kaye: Scored the winner (was it a shot or a pass? Does it matter?) and got under the skin of his opponent. This Canadian is mixing skill and grit to perfection.
- Tyler Miller: Only one save on the night but it was a huge one, stopping a sharp, low shot to preserve LAFC’s one-goal lead at the time. A goalkeeper’s night can be ruined by one play, but he made the one play to make it a good night.
- Carlos Vela: Saved his fireworks for the very end with a terrific goal, but also set up the opener, maintaining his blistering production in goals and assists.
