Vela led LAFC to a 3-1-1 record in April, scoring five goals and two assists in that span. He was also named Angels on Parade’s LAFC Player of the Month for April, as voted by the readers. It was also his second consecutive Player of the Month honor of the season.

It’s a testament to the play of Vela, and LAFC, that things are going so well right now that fans seem a little disappointed by LAFC posting two consecutive draws, and losing one game this season. There’s still about five months left in the regular season, plenty of soccer left to play. But right now, Vela has been phenomenal, and it’s great to see him being honored leaguewide for his exploits to date. Congrats, Carlos!
