Orange County SC are back in action on Saturday night, as they host Rio Grande Valley FC for the teams’ first meeting of the season.
Last year, RGVFC were poor overall but completed a sweep over OCSC, despite the Southern California side having a fantastic and dominant season overall. This season, the teams are in a similar spot, just a point apart in the standings as they look to stay in the mix for the playoffs this season.
Orange County have the same number of draws as wins and losses combined in league play, so as we keep saying they could use a few wins to move on up the standings and strengthen their playoff credentials. Michael Salazar has been a potent weapon up top for RGVFC, with seven goals, but Orange County will look to get the better of the Texas side that got the best of them in 2018.
Tale of the Tape:
Orange County SC: 15 points (3-3-6), 13th place in Western Conference; Goal Difference: +2; Last five games: D-D-D-W-D
RGVFC: 16 points (4-4-4), 10th place in Western Conference; Goal Difference: +1; Last five games: W-D-L-W-D
How to Orange County SC vs. RGVFC: The game is scheduled to kick off at 5:30 pm PT at Championship Soccer Stadium in Irvine. You can watch the stream only on ESPN+.
