Fulltime: RSL 0, LAFC 3. LAFC win and move on in the U.S. Open Cup. They put together a confident win on the road, and will be back in action next week. Thanks for following! Plenty more coverage coming soon.

93rd minute: GOOOOOOOOOOOL LAFC! Rodolfo Zelaya, off the bench for his debut, hits a sharp free kick that goes off the post, and fellow substitute Adama Diomande cleans up to score the easy tap-in. LAFC win 3-0!

64th minute: GOOOOOOOOOOOL LAFC! Lee Nguyen with the insurance goal, taking Latif Blessing’s feed on a jailbreak.

Halftime: LAFC lead 1-0. The half overall was pretty sleepy other than the goal. Can LAFC take the lead the distance? We’ll find out shortly.

8th minute: GOOOOOOOOOOOOL LAFC! A familiar story: Eduard Atuesta sends a pass through to Carlos Vela in his sweet spot, and he strokes it home. LAFC up 1-0, good start for them.

Lineups:

No big surprises for LAFC, who use close to their full-strength lineup. Pablo Sisniega makes his debut in goal.

RSL go with a pretty strong lineup. A few inexperienced players, but the big story is Freddy Juarez is coaching with Mike Petke at a coaching course.

Los Angeles Football Club will begin its U.S Open Cup journey on Tuesday against Real Salt Lake. LAFC has been out of action since June 1st when the squad cut down the Timbers in a thrilling 3-2 match.

On the other hand, Real Salt Lake are currently riding a two-match skid after falling on the road vs. Montreal Impact and New York Red Bulls, respectively. LAFC can’t take RSL lightly, however, as we’ve seen how tough they constantly play against Bradley’s boys. This match will give LAFC another chance to avenge its loss in the 2018 MLS Playoffs.

Both teams will be shorthanded for Tuesday’s match due to International obligations. Real Salt Lake will be without midfielder Jefferson Savarino due to a Copa America call-up. LAFC will be without starting defender Walker Zimmerman and starting GK Tyler Miller after both were called up to the USMNT Gold Cup Roster, respectively. Starting midfielder Mark-Anthony Kaye was also called up to the Gold Cup as he is set to represent the Canadian National Team. Reserve midfielder Peter-Lee Vassell was called up by Jamaica for the Gold Cup as well.

Odds:

Bookmakers currently favor LAFC at (-120), while listing Real Salt Lake as underdogs (+270). The odds for a draw are currently listed at (+280) (Via OddsPortal).
