Los Angeles Football Club defeated Real Salt Lake 3-0 on Tuesday in the fourth round of the 2019 U.S. Open Cup. Carlos Vela opened the scoring, before Lee Nguyen and Adama Diomande added second-half insurance goals.
With the game in the books it’s time to decide the LAFC Man of the Match. The nominees, as selected by Angels on Parade staff:
- Latif Blessing: Assisted the game’s second goal, drew three yellow cards and played another terrific two-way game while absorbing a ton of contact.
- Eddie Segura: With Walker Zimmerman out, Segura got another chance to marshal the backline, and was a rock. Helped limit RSL to four shots total, just one on target for the night.
- Pablo Sisniega: Not bad for a first-team debut, huh? The goalkeeper slotted in well for the night, picking up a debut shutout and making the stops he needed to make. A solid start for the youngster.
- Carlos Vela: When you score your 17th goal in your 17th game to set the tone for the winning side, you’re doing it right and Vela is taking this competition very seriously.
