Major League Soccer revealed the rest of the 2019 MLS All-Star Team roster on Monday, and two additional Los Angeles Football Club players — midfielder Mark-Anthony Kaye and forward Diego Rossi — have been named to the squad.
It’s the first selection for both players, both in their second MLS season with LAFC. Kaye has made 15 league appearances so far this season, scoring three goals and five assists. Now away at the Concacaf Gold Cup with Canada, the 24-year-old has been a fixture in LAFC’s terrific midfield and has played a significant role in pushing the club to the top of the standings. He’s also a former player of MLS All-Star coach James O’Connor, so the selection wasn’t a huge surprise, although he’s definitely earned it fair and square.

Rossi has eight goals and three assists in 16 league games this season to date. He’s tied for fourth in scoring at present, the 21-year-old is approaching the 12 goals scored in league play last season and could very well smash that this time around. The Uruguayan is the second or third scoring option who would be the first option on most teams.
Kaye and Rossi join already selected 2019 MLS All-Stars Carlos Vela and Walker Zimmerman as getting called up to the game, taking place on July 31 in Orlando against Atlético de Madrid. LAFC’s four representatives are bested only by Atlanta United’s selections. Congrats to Diego and Mark for the honors!
