It was not a vintage night for Los Angeles Football Club, who lost their first game since April 17 as they fell 1-0 to the Colorado Rapids on Friday on the road. Danny Wilson’s second-half goal was the difference, in a game that featured a 62-minute weather delay.
It’s tough to look at the positives after losses, but even with a disappointing performance, there’s usually a player or two who toil away positively despite the result. The nominees coming out of this game, as decided by Angels on Parade staff:
- Latif Blessing: LAFC dominated in possession and one of the reasons was because of Blessing’s ability to keep hold of the ball. Only Carlos Vela suffered more fouls for the black-and-gold in this one.
- Diego Rossi: Was the brightest light in attack and he was involved in the game’s best chances. Was a bit unlucky he didn’t find a goal or assist.
- Eddie Segura: It may sound like a backhanded compliment, but the reason LAFC have lost their two games this season each 1-0? Has to be due to Segura, who shows in good games and bad a remarkable ability to play consistently good in the center of defense.
