Los Angeles Football Club bounced back from just their second loss of 2019 with a commanding 5-1 win over Sporting Kansas City in Kansas City on Wednesday. Goals from Christian Ramirez, Diego Rossi, Carlos Vela, Rodolfo Zelaya and Mohamed El-Munir canceled out Yohan Croizet’s consolation effort.
So, now it’s time to pick the man of the match for LAFC. The nominees, as selected by Angels on Parade staff:
- Christian Ramirez: Set the tone with a clever free kick and set up the game’s second goal, too. The American could have gone into a big slump after missing the cut to go to the Gold Cup with the USMNT, but has shown no signs of sulking.
- Diego Rossi: Scored the eventual winner and set up a goal as well. It still feels like the Uruguayan isn’t quite playing at his full potential, which is a fearsome prospect indeed if he can unlock it.
- Pablo Sisniega: Made five saves and two punches, highlighted by a save on a penalty kick. Tyler Miller has been having a terrific season but Sisniega looks the real deal.
- Carlos Vela: An awesome trademark goal and an unselfish dish to get Fito Zelaya off the mark. Don’t ever take these performances for granted.
