Los Angeles Football Club produced a record-breaking win over the Vancouver Whitecaps on Saturday, a 6-1 thrashing. After an Andy Rose own goal, LAFC scored through Adama Diomande, Mark-Anthony Kaye, two from Carlos Vela and Diego Rossi.
With that, here are the nominees for LAFC Man of the Match, as selected by Angels on Parade staff:
- Adama Diomande: Nearly had a brace, but made do with a goal on the night. Dio’s persistence on set pieces broke open the dam for LAFC, and he battled for 62 minutes to wear out the Vancouver defenders.
- Mark-Anthony Kaye: Scored a blast and had a great two-way shift in midfield. Kaye may be versatile enough to play left back for Canada, but he’s a real gem in midfield.
- Carlos Vela: Who else? Vela’s brace puts him back on a goal-per-game pace in league play, with an astounding 19 in 19 games. He also set up the own goal (no assist credit) and had an actual assist, too, while getting very close to more of both.
