Los Angeles Football Club lost their first home game in league play in 2019, falling 2-0 to Minnesota United on Sunday. Mason Toye scored a brace for the visitors, and Vito Mannone had eight saves to keep LAFC off the scoresheet.
It’s always tough to find clear-cut candidates for LAFC Man of the Match in games like this one, but we’ve decided on a few to choose from what was a tough night for the black-and-gold, selected by Angels on Parade staff:
- Latif Blessing: Put in another active shift, all over the field (literally!), in an attempt to set the tone and replicate his heroics from last week’s game.
- Mohamed El-Munir: Admittedly, Minnesota did almost no attacking in the second half, but El-Munir’s skill on the ball helped LAFC put pressure on the Loons in the second 45 after entering the game.
- Adrien Perez: Another sub, Perez is the only player to have notched two shots on target on the night, and had perhaps the best chance of the game for LAFC, only to be denied by Minnesota’s GK.
