Brian Rodriguez got his second international appearance for Uruguay against the U.S. Men’s National steam in Tuesday night’s friendly, which finished a 1-1 draw in St. Louis.
He was generally dangerous on the wing against the USA, and he capped that off with a brilliant goal, his first-ever goal for his country at the senior level.
Uruguay strike first!

It's LAFC's Brian Rodriguez who opens the scoring with his first career international goal on just his second cap! #USAvURU pic.twitter.com/SgcV1Gb962
Rodriguez is played the ball out on the wing on a counter attack.
He’s one on one with Aaron Long, and bamboozles him, faking to the inside, cutting back outside, and then unleashing a thunderbolt passed Brad Guzan.
It was quite the strike for his first career international goal.
Rodriguez scored in the 50th minute, and played for another 12 minutes before being subbed out. The game finished 1-1.
Plays like this are what made Rodriguez so attractive to LAFC.
I’m sure as he settles down and gets used to MLS we’ll start to see more feats of skill like this goal.
