Los Angeles Football Club tied the Philadelphia Union 1-1 on Saturday in Chester, Pennsylvania. Kacper Przybylko’s opener was canceled out by Carlos Vela’s equalizer just before halftime.
With that, it’s time to decide the LAFC Man of the Match. The nominees, as selected by Angels on Parade staff:
- Eduard Atuesta: The midfielder was a sight for sore eyes after a week away. His two-way play was vital and he had a few terrific passes to try and unlock the Union defense.
- Tyler Miller: Can make a good case he could have done better on Przybylko’s goal, but later made two huge saves that preserved a result for LAFC.
- Carlos Vela: It wasn’t the captain’s best night and yet he still made the game-breaking play, scoring the needed equalizer, and nearly adding another in the second half. Even not 100 percent, Vela’s impact was obvious.
