Los Angeles Football Club tied Orlando City SC 2-2 on Saturday in Orlando, with goals from Nani and Benji Michel bookended by tallies from Adrien Perez and DIego Rossi.
With another game in the books, time to decide on the LAFC Man of the Match. The nominees, as selected by Angels on Parade staff:
- Adama Diomande: Played as a deep forward, facilitating play, something he usually does in patches but not for a full game. Didn’t quite come together for 90 minutes, but he helped set up the vital equalizer and did put in a good shift in being the team’s playmaker.
- Adrien Perez: First MLS start, first MLS goal for the former indoor star. Perez played by far his best game for LAFC, opening the scoring, and was a bit unfortunate his second goal was called back for offside, or he could have been the big hero.
- Diego Rossi: Truthfully, it was a tough night for Rossi, who looked isolated and too willing to take bad shots for most of the game. But, strikers only need a moment of magic, and with the game on the line, the Uruguayan came through with a wonderfully worked give-and-go with Dio for the equalizer.
