Jesús David Murillo has been announced as a new signing by his former club, Colombia’s Independiente Medellín, in recent days, but Los Angeles Football Club have yet to confirm the signing.
“There are still some issues that need to be finalized. When those things are finalized, I think we’ll have a better idea of what timing looks like [for Murillo to possibly play this season]. Unfortunately that’s the best I can come up with today,” LAFC head coach Bob Bradley told reporters Friday when asked directly about Murillo and if he could be in line for playing time this season.
That answer does admit there was something to the transfer rumor, which makes sense since, again, DIM already announced the move.
But, progress since Murillo was spotted at LAFC’s game Sunday, sitting in the stands during their match at The Banc against the Seattle Sounders, and shown on the ESPN broadcast.
As long as his physical was/is fine and the deal is completed, it’s fantastic news that he’s already in the country. According to reporter John Rojas, Murillo has to finish his quarantine and then he can join team training.
