Los Angeles Football Club already knew they’d be playing the Seattle Sounders in Round One of the 2020 MLS Cup Playoffs, and now we all know when that game will happen.
Put Tuesday, Nov. 24 at 7:30 pm PT on your calendar, as LAFC will take on the Seattle Sounders to wrap up the round, with a marquee matchup that evening. Yes, Tuesday games are pretty rare in MLS, but we do see them from time to time in Concacaf Champions League and MLS playoffs and CCL are similar in tone and format.
This game is a mirror-image rematch of last year’s playoff meeting between the teams, with this edition to be played at the Sounders’ home of CenturyLink Field. The Sounders are favorites, LAFC underdogs, and both sides to miss some of their internationals for this game, which is a pity.
But the date is set and now we know how long it will be until the playoffs kick off for LAFC. Win and you continue on, lose and it’s all over for this season in MLS.
