After the game between Los Angeles Football Club and the San Jose Earthquakes, originally scheduled for Sunday at Earthquakes Stadium, was postponed because of three positive coronavirus tests on the LAFC roster, MLS announced Tuesday the game has been rescheduled for Wednesday at 8 pm PT.
It would appear the expectation is LAFC’s coronavirus outbreak is in check, and so the game can go on. It is the final open window of the season for the game to take place, with the regular season finale, aka Decision Day coming this Sunday.
LAFC come into this game with a shot of improving their prospects of playing a home game in the playoffs if they can pick up a win here and on Sunday against the Portland Timbers. But with the Earthquakes fighting for their playoff lives, this is a crucial game for them and it won’t be a gimme for the black-and-gold.
So there you have it. We’ll have coverage of Wednesday’s game, as always.
