Los Angeles Football Club played their first competitive game of 2020 at Banc of California Stadium, in Concacaf Champions League against Mexican side Club León on Thursday, and The 3252 supporters union used the occasion of their first tifo of the year to pay tribute to Los Angeles Lakers legend Kobe Bryant and his daughter Gianna, both of whom died in a helicopter crash earlier in February.
The tifo was a photo recreation of the father and daughter, with purple and gold accent colors, with the words “Kobe & Gigi Forever” underneath. The choreography panels behind the tifo were purple cards as a background with white cards that made the numbers 8 and 24, which were Kobe Bryant’s numbers as a professional player.

The tifo was not the only tribute to the Bryants on the night. LAFC’s captain armband for Carlos Vela featured a tribute to all of those who died in the crash, with their names printed on the band and Kobe’s numbers and initials listed on the band.
