Carlos Vela voted LAFC Player of the Month for February/March

No surprise, El Rey kept cruising.

The votes are in, and little surprise, Carlos Vela has been voted LAFC Player of the Month by the readers at Angels on Parade for the combined games in February and March.

Vela scored in three of Los Angeles Football Club’s four games to start 2020, hitting a brace in the key comeback win in Concacaf Champions League over Club León to send the black-and-gold through, before scoring a goal in each of LAFC’s opening MLS games, a 1-0 win over Inter Miami and a 3-3 draw against the Philadelphia Union.

The goal scored against Philly was Vela’s 50th in MLS regular-season play, and his first direct free kick goal in league play.

All in all, posting a 2-1-1 mark in the opening four games across all competitions and starting league play unbeaten while also advancing in Concacaf Champions League, a lot of players played well to kick things off for LAFC. But Vela remains a cut above, and fingers crossed, whenever we get to see soccer again, here’s hoping he can maintain his red-hot form. Congrats to Carlos for the Player of the Month honor.
