Vote: Best LAFC jersey ever

Which look is your favorite?

MLS: LAFC Culinary Tour Kirby Lee-USA TODAY Sports

This week, we’re focusing on jerseys here at SB Nation, and let’s kick this off with an easy one: Which Los Angeles Football Club jersey is the best so far?

There’s only four to choose from, so you don’t need to worry about too many choices. Let’s run through them:

Inaugural primary: 2018-19

MLS: Sporting Kansas City at Los Angeles FC Kirby Lee-USA TODAY Sports

The jersey that started it all, the first primary established the black-and-gold as such. A design immediately regarded as classic, there’s a subtle art deco design inlaid on the jersey, also in black. The biggest controversy for this one? The sponsor logo not being the same gold color as the rest of the accents on the jersey.

Inaugural secondary: 2018

MLS: Los Angeles FC at FC Dallas Jerome Miron-USA TODAY Sports

The first secondary was white-and-gold, the only real design element on this one being the subtle gray piping on the chest. If you like “clean” looks this is for you, but this design was around the shortest amount of time, due to the standard alternate years jersey switch for MLS teams.

Current secondary: 2019-present

MLS: Los Angeles FC at Columbus Crew SC Trevor Ruszkowski-USA TODAY Sports

The first replacement jersey, this secondary kept the white, gray and gold coloring but offered more design elements. Most notably, this jersey features a set of gray hoops around the white jersey, with paint drips and discontinuations leading to a “gritty” city look that was reminiscent of Rage Against the Machine’s “Battle of Los Angeles” album cover.

Current primary: Present-

The newest LAFC kit is only four games old, and represents an evolution on the first design. Instead of the nearly invisible art deco pattern, this primary jersey features vertical stripes, all in black, for a slightly more visible look. Three stripes over the shoulder are a design element for MLS’s 25th anniversary shared by nearly every team, as are the horizontal seams on the chest and sleeves. Another big change? The same jersey sponsor, but this time with the font in gold to match the rest of the jersey.

So which one gets your vote? Cast your ballot now to determine which LAFC jersey is the best of all-time (so far). And let us know which one you picked in the comments below.
