It’s official: Los Angeles Football Club know their opponents for the group stage of the MLS restart tournament in Orlando.

LAFC were drawn into Group F as the top seed of that group. Director of The 3252 Mark Rojas represented the club in the draw, and he selected the numbers of the opponents in the draw.

Drumroll please: LAFC will play the LA Galaxy, Houston Dynamo and Portland Timbers in the group stage of the tournament, which kicks off on July 8.

Yes, an El Trafico is coming, and it will be the first LA rivalry match played on neutral ground. Interesting!

Beyond that, LAFC doesn’t have a major problem or rivalry with the Dynamo, although there have been some good games between the teams the past two years. But there have been some very feisty games and big controversies against the Timbers, so that’s going to be a rousing, rivalry-style game as well.

So there you have it. The schedule will be coming out for the tournament soon, and we’ll pass those details along when we have them. For now, get ready for the games, and we get to see the “MLS is Back Tournament” from Orlando pretty soon.
