MLS announced last week that the 2020 eMLS Cup, the final event in the eMLS season, will take place Sunday. The event, which was originally supposed to take place in Austin, Tex., will be held remotely, due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

The winner will get bragging rights, a trophy, and $20,000 in prize money.

The top 11 qualifiers from the first two events of the season qualify for the championship event, with a playoff between the remaining teams to get the 12th slot. Los Angeles Football Club are in the big dance, with the club’s player, Martin “RemiMartinn” Oregel, in 5th place and comfortably qualified.

Oregel will take on the team that qualifies from the last chance bracket, a development that may give the underdog some momentum coming in, but Oregel has had a good run so far this season, his first and the club’s first in eMLS.

The full tournament runs Sunday from 10 am-3 pm PT, and will be streamed on MLS’s Twitch channel, MLS’s Twitter account, and MLSsoccer.com.

Best of luck to Remi in the big event!
