Orange County SC announced Wednesday on their Instagram account that they will be selling cut out photo boards for fans to display at the club’s home games for the 2020 season.
With the USL Championship scheduled to restart beginning this weekend, and OCSC set to kick off Thursday against Phoenix Rising FC, fans will not be allowed at games in person for the time being, if and when local health authorities approve a limited number of fans in attendance.
So in lieu of fans, the club is selling cut outs for $30 for the season. They’re also offering fans their cut outs at season’s end, complete with player autographs on them, which is a nice touch.

I think this is a great idea. We’ve seen this in some European soccer games, and some Major League Baseball teams are planning this as well. It’s not the same thing as being there, but for many it’s affordable and the prospect of getting it back as a souvenir is pretty cool.
