After four months, Orange County SC are set to return to action, and their first assignment throws them right into the fire, as they are scheduled to host Phoenix Rising FC behind closed doors Thursday to restart their 2020 USL Championship season.

OCSC are one of the last teams in the league to restart play, with Phoenix playing their first match Saturday, when they absolutely spanked LA Galaxy II 4-0 at home. Posting two huge wins this year, four months apart, Phoenix have flexed their muscles and shown they can still be considered a favorite for the league title.

But Orange County have historically been a good match for Phoenix, and their roster may be one of the deepest in the West. The challenge will be to find form quickly and also hold off the team that could be their biggest competition in the group, and considering we’ve seen just one game from Braeden Cloutier’s side and that was back in March, we’re flying blind here. But here’s hoping this will be a good game to restart the season.

Monday’s match between Orange County and Phoenix Rising will be televised nationally on ESPN2 in the United States. The broadcast is scheduled to start at 6 pm PT with kickoff to follow.
