Los Angeles Football Club are scheduled to kick off their portion of the MLS is Back Tournament slate on Monday, when they take on the the Houston Dynamo. Ahead of the big game, it’s worth going over the TV info for this competition, because it’s different than what you’re used to.

Yes, the MLS is Back Tournament is on TV and streaming options. But no, it’s not going to be on the LAFC channel on YouTube TV, like the local broadcasts usually are.

Instead, all games in this competition will be on national networks. So no local broadcasts, no Max Bretos calling black-and-gold games with a rotating cast, while they are in Orlando.

Here’s the listings for the upcoming scheduled group-stage games:

  • Monday, July 13 vs. Houston Dynamo: 5 pm PT, FS1, TUDN in the United States
  • Saturday, July 18 vs. LA Galaxy: 7:30 pm PT, ESPN, ESPN Deportes
  • Thursday, July 23 vs. Portland Timbers: 7:30 pm PT, ESPN2, ESPN Deportes

You can watch these networks on Fubo TV if you need a cable/streaming platform.

It’s possible that if the league makes it through the MLS is Back Tournament, they will restart the season in home venues and local broadcasts could return in 2020. But again, for the entirety of the MLS is Back Tournament, all games, including LAFC’s, will be on ESPN networks, Fox Sports national networks, or Univision networks. Plan accordingly.
