After Sunday’s meeting between Los Angeles Football Club and the Portland Timbers at Banc of California Stadium, there are three fresh new games on tap for the black-and-gold, after MLS and the club announced the new fixtures Friday.
First, LAFC will head back up to Seattle, to take on the Seattle Sounders next Friday. The following Wednesday, Sept. 23, LAFC are back home, to face the Vancouver Whitecaps for the first time in 2020, and then Sept. 27 LAFC will host the San Jose Earthquakes once again.
So it’s largely more of the same, as LAFC have played the Sounders twice already in 2020, and the Quakes once before. The Whitecaps are the new opponent, still (currently) coached by former LAFC assistant coach Marc Dos Santos but also struggling to actually rebuild this year as this choppy and unprecedented campaign chugs along.
There are supposed to be more games scheduled beyond these three, but given the fluid situation of **waves arms around**, the league looks like they’ll be dropping the schedule in drips and drabs the rest of the way, provided the games continue to get played. We’ll keep you posted on updates to the schedule.
