How to Watch Phoenix Rising vs. Orange County SC

Can OCSC keep playoff quest alive?

Orange County SC have three games left in their USL Championship regular season campaign and two teams to leapfrog in order to reach the playoffs this season, beginning with Saturday’s game scheduled against Phoenix Rising in Arizona.

OCSC arrested a three-game losing streak that dropped them to 4th place in Group B with a 1-0 win over Las Vegas Lights just over a week ago. That was another grinding win, but they got the job done, and as of this writing sit two points behind San Diego Loyal in 2nd place. So a win would be a huge result for Braeden Cloutier’s side in terms of their postseason hopes.

They’re taking on the group leaders in Phoenix and they’re never an easy opponent, but Phoenix Rising have wobbled a bit lately, losing two of their last five games and not sitting in the catbird seat like they were last year. I still think they are a formidable team, but there are a few vulnerabilities that Orange County can probe if they’re on their game.

This game isn’t necessarily a must-win for Orange County, but they could really use the win to solidify their playoff credentials, while a draw helps but means they have more work to do in the final two games of the season. OCSC are one of the few teams that have been able to get wins off Phoenix in the desert, so if they’re up for this game, it should be a really good one.

Tale of the Tape:

Orange County SC: 21 points (6-4-3); Goal Difference: +1; Last five games: W-L-L-L-W

Phoenix Rising FC: 26 points (8-3-2), Goal Difference: +22; Last five games: L-W-W-L-D

How to Watch Phoenix Rising vs. Orange County SC: The game is scheduled to kick off at 7:30 pm PT at Casino Arizona Field in Tempe on Saturday. You can watch on ESPN+ throughout the United States.
