LAFC’s Diego Rossi voted MLS Player of the Week

Brace propelled black-and-gold to needed win.

What is time? In 2020, it’s as elastic as ever. Now, in some contexts, a week is just two days, incredibly.

I bring up that aside because Los Angeles Football Club forward Diego Rossi has been voted MLS Player of the Week for Week 9 of the MLS season, which was the games held Tuesday and Wednesday.

All jokes aside, Rossi was stellar in Wednesday’s 5-1 win over the San Jose Earthquakes at Banc of California Stadium, the Uruguayan scoring two goals and helping to set up another (although he didn’t get the credit on the assist for that one) in the romp.

Rossi leads MLS in scoring this season, with nine goals in eight games to date. If he can keep up that form he has a legit shot of becoming the next LAFC star to win the Golden Boot.

It’s so far been a stellar season for Rossi, and as I’ve already noted, enjoy this time while you can, because with him getting better all the time, he won’t be in MLS much longer. Congrats to Diego on the Player of the Week nod.
