Orange County SC’s season is on the line Wednesday, when they take on LA Galaxy II in a playoff six-pointer at Dignity Health Sports Park.
Here’s the deal: OCSC sit two points behind Los Dos at present, as well as two points behind San Diego Loyal sandwiched in the middle. If Orange County win, they’ll vault above those teams with one game to play, with a playoff berth still in play for them. Only one of the three teams will earn the playoff spot.
If Los Dos win, Orange County’s quest for the postseason will be over. A draw won’t really help OCSC either, it’s win or bust for them. For LA, a win helps a lot, but they would take a draw and a loss would not be good although they would still be alive on the final day of the season.
Orange County are not in good form, admittedly, losing four of their last five games, while Los Dos have lost one of their last five. But this is a one-game playoff, basically, so if OCSC can get three points, they live another day for another one-game playoff to make the actual playoffs. This is what the games are all about, should be a big one!
Tale of the Tape:
Orange County SC: 21 points (6-5-3); Goal Difference: 0; Last five games: L-W-L-L-L
LA Galaxy II: 23 points (7-5-2), Goal Difference: -2; Last five games: T-T-W-L-W
