Keen watchers of LAFC’s social channels in recent days probably spotted Carlos Vela in action in training, after missing the last eight games due to a recurring quad injury.
He’s on the field with players and presumably making passes at them in action! All is well now!
Well, we’ll see. LAFC head coach Bob Bradley poured some cold water on the hope that Vela will be raring to go for Saturday’s game against the San Jose Earthquakes, although it is possible he could feature, as well as usual fill-in captain Eduard Atuesta, who’s also been banged up of late, although he did not miss the last game..
“Eduard Atuesta and Carlos Vela have begun the start of training, not yet full training, and are questionable for this match against San Jose,” Bradley told reporters during media availability on Thursday.
Given that Bradley doesn’t usually obfuscate with his player injury updates, I think it’s possible either or both players could come off the bench, probably not start. And it’s also possible neither will play, given LAFC’s track record with injuries over the years.
But, it is possible Vela could return for the game. We’ll see if he’s back on Saturday.
