For the second time since his August arrival, Cristian “Chicho” Arango finds himself selected to the MLS Team of the Week. The Colombian has had a very fruitful start to his LAFC career, netting 11 goals, and tallying a single assist in just over 1000 minutes played.
While his production on the pitch has been outstanding, it has been the energy he has brought to the team that has sparked the recent run of form. His high work rate, and laid back attitude while maintaining that killer instinct around the box.
That instinct was on full display last night, when he single-handedly outscored FC Dallas, but catapulted the team from behind to not only save the result, but eventually win the match. In the process, he netted his first MLS hat-trick, scoring one via penalty, and two open play goals.
The fact that both the tying, and match-winning goals came after the 70 minute mark, shows the fight he has. A high work rate that compels him to go as hard as he can, until the match is either over, or he's taken off the pitch. With just four matches remaining, Chicho is one player the team can rely on, to give everything he has, until the very end.
