How to Watch Minnesota United vs. LAFC: Odds, game thread

Black-and-gold aim to pick up win in vital six-pointer.

MLS: Minnesota United FC at Los Angeles FC Gary A. Vasquez-USA TODAY Sports

Must-win territory continues for LAFC on Saturday, with the most must-winningest of the games to date coming against Minnesota United at Allianz Field.

LAFC have kept their playoff hopes alive by winning their last two games, most recently a 3-2 comeback win over FC Dallas on Wednesday, with the white-hot Cristian Arango leading the way for the black-and-gold. That gives them hope they can leapfrog the teams above them in the Western Conference to get into the playoff slots, but Minnesota are just four points ahead of them in the standings, and so this is a six-pointer for both teams’ postseason prospects.

LAFC could have made up ground midweek on the Loons but they also had a comeback win on Wednesday, beating the Philadelphia Union 3-2 at home, so they maintained their edge coming into this game. Minnesota historically play LAFC very, very well, so this is not going to be an easy game.

Carlos Vela (quad) is listed as questionable but he’s out again, as is Eduard Atuesta (shoulder/ankle). Joining them as listed in being out are Francisco Ginella (knee), Eddie Segura (ACL), Erik Dueñas (ACL), Kwadwo Opoku (knee), Alvaro Quezada (chest), and Julian Gaines (pelvis). Romain Metanire (red-card suspension) is out for Minnesota, as is Justin McMaster.

So, can LAFC keep their momentum going, or will they hit another wall? Here’s hoping they keep the good times rolling in the Land of 10,000 Lakes.

According to our partners at DraftKings Sportsbook, as of Thursday evening, LAFC are (+190), Minnesota are (+140) and a draw is (+250), so LAFC are again slight underdogs on the road.
