The Orange County Board of Supervisors honored Orange County SC last week during their regular board meeting.
The supervisors approved a resolution recognizing the club on a variety of fronts:
- “[Bringing] big-time professional sports entertainment for the enjoyment of the citizens of Orange County at an affordable price.”
- “A positive unifying force in the community, bringing together a diverse group of fans...”
- Undertaking community work through the OCSC Community Foundation, especially during the pandemic.
“It is a great honor for the club to receive this resolution from the County,” said Jeff Garner Orange County Soccer Club President of Business Relations on the team’s website. “OCSC’S primary goal has always been to be a positive force in the community and an asset to Irvine and greater Orange County. To be a vital part of our community, we have always strived to provide not only entertainment but also valuable services for the soccer community of Orange County and support for the businesses of Irvine.”
It’s great to see some recognition, as the club has worked hard to really put roots in the community and do more than just roll the ball out on the field at the stadium once or twice a week. Congrats to OCSC, and keep up the good work, on and off the field.
