The regular season is over in the USL Championship, and the playoffs get underway on Saturday, with Orange County SC hosting Colorado Springs Switchbacks as part of those festivities.
OCSC enter the playoffs after a strong finish to the regular season, winning their last five games and conceding just once in that span. Needless to say, they enter the postseason on the best form in the entire league. But they’re taking on a Colorado Springs team that has the league’s top scorer, in Hadji Barry, and they finished just a few points behind OCSC, so they probably won’t be pushovers.
Orange County have experience with deep runs in the playoffs, immediate disappointments and missing the postseason altogether, but they’ve put together a good regular season and their style of play lends itself to performing well in a playoff setting. Now it’s a matter of making it happen. Can OCSC win and advance to the next round? That’s their hope and expectation...this should be a very good one.
Tale of the Tape:
Orange County SC: 52 points (15-10-7), 2nd place in Pacific Division; Goal Difference: +7; Last five games: W-W-W-W-W
Colorado Springs Switchbacks: 49 points (13-9-10), 3rd place in Mountain Division; Goal Difference: +10; Last five games: L-D-W-L-D
