Orange County SC revealed their preseason game slate ahead of the 2021 USL Championship season on Thursday, and at the moment, they’ve got six games on tap.

Five of those games will come at Championship Soccer Stadium in Irvine, with the sixth in Colorado Springs against the Switchbacks in their new venue, as the first game in said new venue.

Here’s the schedule:

  • Apr. 10: vs. Cal State Fullerton
  • Apr. 17: vs. LA Galaxy II
  • Apr. 24: at Colorado Springs Switchbacks
  • May 1: vs. UC Riverside/Azusa Pacific University
  • May 8: vs. Ventura County Fusion

It would appear the May 1 games will be a split squad doubleheader, half of OCSC playing one opponent, half the other, but we’ll see on that. Times for all of these games are not yet available, and judging from previous years, it’s unlikely there will be a stream for any of these games, although you never know, I suppose. Given fans can attend games in limited capacities in the state of California from Apr. 1, it’s possible they could open these games to the public, but TBD on that as well.

You’ll also notice that these games extend beyond the May 1 or thereabouts starting date for the regular season. It appears the club anticipates the season starting after May 8, so if it starts the following weekend, it would be around May 15. Something to keep an eye on.

The club says their preseason camp will officially open next week, on Mar. 15. They appear to have been training for quite some time already, but I suppose they’ll be summoning any stragglers and getting the group together to get ready for the campaign in earnest. We’ll keep you posted on details around the season to come as we get them.
