The USL Championship unveiled their home openers for all the clubs involved for the 2021 season on Tuesday, and now we know a few of the dates for LAFC’s new USL affiliate, Las Vegas Lights FC.
The team, which is planning to train in Los Angeles with LAFC during the week and then travel for games, have three games on the docket at present:
- Wednesday, May 12: at Sacramento Republic
- Saturday, May 29: at San Diego Loyal
- Saturday, June 5: vs. Tacoma Defiance (Lights FC’s home opener at Cashman Field)
It’s unclear for now if the May 12 game will be the season opener for Las Vegas or just one of the first games on the schedule. Teams have flexibility this season in terms of when they start play, and that’s reflected in the home openers, which stretch across three months, from Apr. 24 to June 19.
Hopefully we’ll get more schedule information soon, as well as more information on Las Vegas’ roster, which officially has one player at present. But there’s still time to see the full schedule and get a full roster together, and then we’ll see what the season has on tap for Las Vegas Lights in 2021.
