Tristan Blackmon’s journey to starter for LAFC has been somewhat underplayed over the last three years, the 2018 draft pick out of unheralded University of the Pacific rising against the odds to be a key contributor of the black-and-gold backline.

In an interview with “The Cooligans” that will air Tuesday at 8 pm ET/PT on Fubo Sports Network, Blackmon detailed his process to earn the trust of LAFC head coach Bob Bradley over time.

“I’ve been through a lot since I’ve been here,” Blackmon told The Cooligans’ Christian and Alexis. “It’s not like I was just given the keys right away and [told] ‘Run with it.’ It’s been lots of ups and downs, that’s in training, that’s in games. So it’s been a learning process for me. It’s an honor to step out on the field every time and work for the coaching staff that’s here, especially Bob. And like you said, to get the trust, like [I] have from him, it means a lot. I’m happy that I have that, and hopefully I just keep making him proud.”

You can catch Blackmon’s full interview with “The Cooligans” Tuesday at 8 pm on Fubo Sports Network. You can stream the show for free on the channel’s website or on LG Channels powered by XUMO, Samsung TV Plus, The Roku Channel and XUMO, or watch it on FuboTV.
