USL released the four division assignments for the 2021 USL Championship season this week, and given the groupings are regionally-based, there were no surprises out along the West Coast.
Eight teams will comprise the Pacific Division, including Orange County SC and Las Vegas Lights FC, widely reported to become LAFC’s USL reserve team this season.
Here’s the full rundown:
- Orange County SC
- Las Vegas Lights
- San Diego Loyal
- LA Galaxy II
- Phoenix Rising FC
- Oakland Roots
- Sacramento Republic FC
- Tacoma Defiance
So yeah, this is basically the eight closest teams to each other. Of course, this is a tough group, so easy games are likely to be at a premium.
The league promised home opener info will be out soon, and the schedule should be coming out before too long, with the season supposed to start sometime around May 1. We’ll keep you posted on details as we learn them.
