Teams draw in preseason clash.

Orange County SC played their highest-profile friendly of the 2021 preseason on Saturday, as they helped the Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC christen their new stadium, Weidner Field, with a 2-2 draw.

Switchbacks FC got the first goal, courtesy of Hadji Barry just five minutes in, before new Orange County forward Ronaldo Damus got an equalizer. Barry added his second of the game in the 52nd minute, and OCSC knotted up the scorer in the 83rd minute, with a Switchbacks own goal off a final touch from Raymond Drai, and the teams settled for a tuneup draw.

A crowd of 2,200 was on hand for the first game at the new stadium, which cost a reported $45 million to build. At over 6,000 feet, it is the stadium with the highest elevation used in American pro soccer.

These teams will play at the same venue in the regular season on July 1, so that should give Orange County a sense of what to expect when they come back in the summer.
