How to Watch Las Vegas Lights vs. Orange County SC

Which surging team will get the edge?

A big Pacific Division clash is on tap Saturday night, as Las Vegas Lights FC will host Orange County SC in a battle between two teams in good form of late.

Las Vegas are unbeaten in three after losing their first four games out of the gate, but it’s looking increasingly like the opening games were not representative of how they’ll actually perform. Their latest result, a 4-3 barnburner against LA Galaxy II midweek, was a terrific performance with Lights FC deploying the same strategy, a well-timed throughball, again and again, and punishing their opponent in the process. This team has gone from cannon fodder to at the very least competitive in a very short time.

But Orange County have gone three games unbeaten themselves, most recently gutting out a hard-fought 1-0 win over Oakland Roots at home last weekend. They are not comfortable getting into shootouts, instead preferring to take the lead and then prioritize defending down the stretch. It gets nervy but they’re making it work, and a lot of, dare I say, contenders play that way.

So, will Vegas continue their run, or will OCSC continue theirs? Or will it be a stalemate? This is going to be a fascinating night and we’ll see which team emerges on top.

Tale of the Tape:

Orange County SC: 10 points (3-2-1), 3rd place in Pacific Division; Goal Difference: +2; Last five games: W-D-W-L-W

Las Vegas Lights: 7 points (2-4-1), 7th place in Pacific Division; Goal Difference: -9; Last five games: W-D-W-L-L
